EA is facing civil action for copyright violation after it was accused of using the official team anthem of the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 10 of its videogames. The song’s composer, Gerald Willis, now wants EA to pay $1,500,000.
Mr Willis of Reno, Nevada, had registered the UNLV anthem ‘Win with the Rebels’ under copyright back in 1990. The composer claims the song can be heard in 10 EA-published games, and is seeking $150,000 for each violation.
