10 02 2009Some network neutrality advocates fuel their brains with wild-eyed worries: ISPs slashing access to Web sites and applications with the abandon of Huns sweeping down from the steppes. Those in the ISP community tend to see these as mere fever dreams, dystopian visions that have little correspondence to reality.
Dick Lynch, Verizon’s CTO, summed up the latter attitude rather diplomatically this week. When talking about network management rules, let’s keep our eyes on “real needs,” he said Monday morning.
