International forum on Chinese copyright law
15 10 2010An international two-day conference in Beijing marked the 100th birthday of the “Copyright Law of the Qing Dynasty”, the first in Chinese history.
In his speech Xu Jialu stressed the necessity of IPR as well as China’s commitment to the rule of law and pointed out that special intellectual property courts had been formed.
GAPP’s Director Liu Binjie conceded that the new Chinese copyright system is not perfect, but that an “Outline of National Intellectual Property Strategy” has been formulated and that IP protection is a basic strategy of the country for advancement.
